NZIM History

Founded in 1946 the New Zealand Institute of Management (NZIM) is a non-profit organisation with a mission of enhancing managerial and organisational effectiveness in New Zealand.

NZIM is a professional organisation that caters to the professional and organisational needs of its members, currently numbering over 6,500 nationally, and expanding.

NZIM provides both its corporate and individual members with networking opportunities, workshops and seminars, training and career development, professional qualifications, management information, mentoring, scholarships and awards.

NZIM is a registered private training organisation, accredited to provide management programmes to Level 5. NZIM qualifications are also provided by NZIM through secondary and tertiary providers throughout the country.

NZIM has divisions in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin. Each division provides a comprehensive programme of public short courses, ranging from a half-day seminar for supervisory staff to residential concentrated courses for senior management. Many courses are repeated several times over the year, so if you are part of a larger organisation everyone can be trained over a reasonable time frame.

Within those programmes you will find a complete structure of training both specific and general. Each is designed for a particular level of manager and supervisor.
