BUSINESS CHALLENGE
The speed of change in business is fast and getting faster. Leadership and management are both needed in an organisation. However, NZIM's research indicates that New Zealand is faced with a "leadership challenge" and that there is a growing shortage of leaders.
The NZIM Leadership Development Programme assists both current leaders and potential leaders to develop their leadership attributes further. This programme is successful because of its experiential learning base.
The content of this Leadership Development Programme is arranged around the two main components of successful leadership: effective organisational leadership and successful self-management.
The self-management component of this programme draws heavily on the latest research and best practice of emotionally intelligent leadership. The programme fuses the psychometric assessment from the participants’ pre-course EQ test and 360° management skills survey with the in-course development of effective personal leadership competency.
The programme is suitable as a one-off learning exercise; enabling a person to increase their understanding of how to be an effective leader. It is equally effective as a component of a longer term personal leadership development plan. It is also suitable for existing management teams who want to raise their performance.
