The NZIM Managerial Excellence programme is an innovative, comprehensive programme designed to extend and develop the potential of key managers and leaders within an organisation.
The level of leadership, technical expertise and overall business aptitude needed to successfully manage business units or organisations is always increasing. Leaders and managers must be adept at seeking business solutions, be creative and innovative in their approach, implement within time, budget and constraints whilst also ensuring they influence others within their organisation and outside of their organisation.
The NZIM Managerial Excellence programme has been successfully running for over 11 years and has created a strong reputation as “one of the must-do” management development programmes for middle and senior managers; the alumni includes over 300 graduates from varying organisations and backgrounds including Vodafone, RNZAF, Fulton Hogan, Land and Information and Navman.
The programme will provide an entry-point into advanced qualifications for middle or senior managers wishing to provide conceptual rigour for their experiences but not wanting the commitment of full time study or night and weekend classes.
Pre-requisites for this programme are that participants have practical competence, skills and experiences to enable them to benefit from the challenge provided by the programme as well as being in a management role for five years or more.
 TARGET AUDIENCE
Managers who have been in their role for more than five years who are seeking a formal management qualification, managers preparing themselves for senior positions and middle managers who need to fill in gaps at a more strategic and operational level.

PROGRAMME STRUCTURE
Spread over nine months (face to face modules are approximately every four to six weeks) to optimise the learning experience. All participants’ are required to complete assessments for each module, a major project and final project report as well as a reflective journal and a formal presentation.
On successful completion of this programme, participants are awarded the NZIM Diploma in Management (Advanced). This qualification is approved by NZQA to Level 6.
