 The Ultimate 24hr Adventure Challenge! NZIM are proud to support the 2007 Genesis Energy Corporate Hillary Challenge. The Sir Edmund Hillary Outdoor Pursuits Centre (OPC) and principal sponsor Genesis Energy welcome company-based teams to compete in the ultimate 24 hour event taking place on November 9 & 10 in the Tongariro National Park. Teams of 4 (2 female and 2 male) will represent their organisation through a diverse range of challenges ranging from navigation to problem solving and mountain biking to trekking. Format – - The race will be a cross between an adventure race and a 24hr rogaine.
- Navigation to suit all levels
- 10 mystery problem solving activities and special stages
- All teams have 24hrs to visit as many checkpoints as possible and accumulate the biggest score
- The race will run midday to midday
No Kayaks needed! No support crew needed! Disciplines – - Mountain biking
- Running/trekking
- Navigation (using map and compass)
- Competitors should be prepared to get wet, crawl through small dark spaces and dangle from ropes at some point on the course
- Problem solving and strategic planning skills essential
